The dining room is the lab, the kitchen, the beginning.. to what we know is going to be magnified greatness. We didn't find the urgency to call this the demo or the cd because this creation could be a hundred songs or one, what is most important is making music that is not restricted by time. The masterminds behind this project will shape the future of what enters your ears. Alex Jacke is the man you will all be captivated by on this project. He is beyond the complete package, creating the melodies, writing the lyrics, composing the bass line, he does it all. This project is the catapult of his solo career, and everyone around him is here to see that through. Cecil"logik"Bernardy, the in-house engineer and producer, makes beats for days. Here's the story behind the artistic genius....Mike Street, get familiar

Well here we go. Legal name is Michael Street yes, Street. I come
from the ever changing DC Metropolitan area. Metro Area is mad
general, I know, and there are so many types of people, styles, and
ideals that it would take forever for anyone not from here what it
means to be from Manassass vs. The District vs. Silver Spring vs.
Largo. But it all comes together somehow to paint this crazy city
that despite its tiny size is a mover and shaker in both culture and
politics. Splitting 26 weeks of the year in Silver Spring and the
other 26 in the NE quadrant of the District with my Dad has graced me
with a unique eye. It taught me how to walk. No, really walk through
an area. What do you see, smell, hear, or sense as you get to
wherever you need to get? And depending where you are it is
completely different. People are just now getting a sense of how
diverse the area is getting and how each area is adapting separately.
You can see guys running around in H & M pea coats and Nike Boots with
Abstract tees. My appreciation of my surroundings started early and
hasn't fully been realized. From observing the history of subway
writers like Cool "Disco" Dan, Tyme, the iconic Borf, and new guys on
the scene like Magic, and Stop the War to the establishment of 3 new
skate shops within the city-limits: Kickballers, Palace 5, and Asylum
to the re-opening of Attitude in College Park; to the sick new gear
shops sprinkled throughout the area; and the resurfacing of that
previously hood skate spot in Shaw I have been molded into a cultural
connoisseur. I would describe my style as "back to basics" with an
emphasis on denim. I can't wait to finish off these STFs so I can
move onto some raw Japanese denims, but other than that I have a
decent kick game with an emphasis on pinks. I just want to help
market CHIT because it is so clean and simplistic. It's getting away
from the overwhelming prints and screens of today's tees to the
simplicity and taste of future "street wear". But to me there's no
such thing as "street wear", it all depends on where you live and
that's what makes the clothes a hot item because it's like being on
the inside. You have something no one else has because it's only on
YOUR streets. By reaching out to all these different regions Todd is
doing CHIT big because it'll never get stale and generalized. It will
remain plugged into each region thanks to incredible team he's
surrounded himself with. I'm crazy excited to be apart of this. So
that's me ya'll Mike Street. Later.

Rapper Kanye West's Mother Dies

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Donda West, mother of Kanye West and former chairwoman of Chicago State University's English department, has died, a spokesman for the rapper said.

Donda West died Saturday night in Los Angeles, said the spokesman, who asked for anonymity because not all family members had been notified.

"The family respectfully asks for privacy during this time of grief," the spokesman said.

A cause of death has not been released.

Donda West was known for the strong bond she shared with her son, by whose side she was often seen at parties and award shows.

In May, she published the book "Raising Kanye: Life Lessons from the Mother of a Hip-Hop Star," in which she paid homage to her famous son.

Donda West served as chief executive of West Brands LLC, the parent company of her son's business enterprises, and as chairwoman of the Kanye West Foundation, an educational nonprofit that works to decrease dropout rates and improve literacy.

She worked in higher education for 31 years, before leaving academia in 2004 to help manage her son's career, according to a biography on the Kanye West Foundation's Web site.

She began working at Chicago State University in 1980 and eventually chaired the school's English department, according to the site. She started her teaching career in the early 1970s as an instructor at Brown College in Atlanta.

Basketball was my passion since I was three years old, and I was fortunate enough to play for many different city squads [Sonny Hill, Bishiop McDevitt High School, & LaSalle University]. The game of basketball allowed me to express myself on the court, but off the court, fashionable streetwear was another form of expression that I began to favor. To make a long story short, I became one of the city's flyest. My oldheads took notice, and so my fashion taste combined with loyalty that traced back to my younger days was how I began working at Afficial.

So the first individual that we chose to interview for the diary of a sneaker head is a brotha who hails from the city of brotherly love. His name is Kahri Jones, you may have seen him skating, driving, or walking around the center city streets, holdin it down for the culture in many ways. We caught up with him recently to discuss this over saturated culture....ahem!!!!

Todd L. Perry II: Let everyone know your name, and what you consider to be your role in sneaker culture:

Kahri Jones:

Sup! My name is Kahri Jones and in about the past five years I've delevoped a strong appetite for sneakers. I like to grab what ever I think thats hot, mostly Jordans. I primarily go after the OG colorways like Military 4s and Aqua 8s. The shoe that really made me start collect was the Carmelo Nuggets colorway of the Jordan 2s. Since then I've been after other shoes like Nike SB's and the Air Max series. The whole culture itself even allows you explore streetwear because the basically go hand and hand. To me its a whole lifestyle.

TLP:

Sounds Good. As far as tee-shirts go, what's on the top of your list

KJ:

Crooks & Castle. Acapulco Gold. PFK. I believe each brand has something interesting about them. Supreme and Stussy are also good, they're big in NY.

TLP:

Yea PFK is definitely doing their thing, so do you have any projects that your working on personally that you would like to expose

KJ:

Actually about two years ago in highschool, me and a friend were supposed to start making some shirts under the name of Hierarchy. We didn't find time so it was scraped. As for now I'm trying to rebuild my sneaker collection thats all.

TLP:

Yea, the culture is missing individuals who are solely dedicated for pure artistic reasons. Where do you see the culture let's say...10 years from now

KJ:

I believe that the culture should be fine as long as there are still people who are behind their favorite brands because of their creativity. Sure they will be people who jump on to the bandwagon because people want something thats a fresh breathe of air. But they we then move on to something else. Thats fine cause there were people into the culture before it became popular and most likely they will still be around.

TLP:

So....this man's resume is pretty extensive. Drew and I(Todd L. Perry II) actually met through basketball, a good 5 or 6 years ago. I was always ahead of my time as far as that went, so I always got a run with the oldheads. We stayed homies and eventually realized that we had a lot in common off the court. We were both interested in street fashion.

Fast forward to the present, he helps run the premiere Philadelphia streetwear store, Afficial. With Drew being heavily involved with the city's best Sneaker Boutique its only natural that we would link up.

He had a vested interest in CHIT, and was ridin(no homo) from jump street. He now is the Philadelphia Street Team Manager, which means he's the marketing/head honcho/big homie/hustler along with myself in Philadelphia.

So, Welcome world to the CHIT-LIFE.

As We proceed to give you what you need....Introducing Atlanta, GA CHIT Street Team Captain, Craig Haynes. Hailing from bang-bang West Oak Lane, PA.

Craig has been involved with the street culture, for as long as I can remember. As a matter of fact, I met him on a train ride to NYC, to visit the Supreme store. I recognized a real N**** from jump street. We currently attend Morehouse College, and he is the Southern Division Cap't.

He recently caught up with Lupe, for some skate talk. Both gentleman, as you may already know, are dedicated to the culture.( Fuck all Posers)
